This information may be used for research as part of a Newcastle University PhD project entitled "Designing socio-technical interventions to support the infrastructuring of state funded healthcare budgets":

  • What is this study: We are researching into the work required to operate a team of paid carers / Personal Assistants based on state funding. This research is important as the responsibilities placed on those with the funding need to be understood, so the work demanded can be alleviated.
  • Your participation: Your participation in this research is voluntary and you may choose to withdraw your participation at any time without any penalty by no longer using this website.
  • Confidentiality: This website is publicly available. If you register, it is optional to use any name or you can use a psudeonym. If your data is extracted to become part of that research study then you will be confidential within that study. All information will be stored anonymously within that research project. We will be writing up parts of these participations at which point we will anonymise what you say.
  • GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation: As a university, we use personally-identifiable information to conduct research. When we use personally-identifiable information from people who have agreed to take part in research, we ensure that it is in the public interest. This means that when you agree to take part in a research study, we will use your data in the ways needed to conduct and analyse the research study. Your right to access, change or move your information are limited, as we need to manage your information in specific ways in order for the research to be reliable and accurate. If you withdraw from the study, we will keep the information about you that we have already obtained. To safeguard your rights, we will use the minimum personally-identifiable information possible. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data in a way that is not lawful, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk/global/contact-us/ Our Data Protection Officer can be contacted via [email protected].

  • Describing how your information may be used or shared in this Privacy Policy.
